Fickr Set: AGI-08

May 22nd, 2008 Posted in AGI-08

Videos of all the presentations from AGI-08 are now available online and can be accessed via the pages for the conference and workshop schedules. As was mentioned in a previous blog post, there will also be coverage of the three-day SENS West in Los Angeles in late July. The first day (Aging: The Disease, The Cure, The Implications) is about radical life extension and is free. The second two days (Understanding Aging: Biomedical and Bioengineering Approaches) are on the more academic pursuit of postponing death and cost a lot of money to attend. You’d think the one about not dying would cost more, but you’d be wrong.

I’m currently uploading photos from AGI-08 to a photo set with links to the videos and transcripts. Right now there are transcriptions of six talks on Accelerating Future

Another interesting event taking place in the near-term is the Global Catastrophic Risks conference organized by the Oxford Future of Humanities Institute. This will be happening in Britain, and I will therefore have nothing of it. There will be a Bay Area version the day before Convergence, which I’ll be attending.
