PixelJunk Makers
January 29th, 2009 Posted in Interviews
This is an interview with Kentaro Yoshida and Shouichi Tomi Tominaga of Q-Games. When I recorded this conversation at the office in Kyoto, I didn’t know PixelJunk Monsters was headed to the PSP, that PixelJunk Eden would be picking up Independent Game Festival nominations, or that an expansion pack was in the works. When this news started coming in on consecutive weeks, it seemed like a good time to finalize the translation.
As it turns out, this might be the most widely read of the articles I’ve worked on, seeing as it was bounding around the internet for a few days there and showing up all over the place: posted to GameSetWatch, then cross-posted to Gamasutra. Linked by Jem Alexander at the newly defunct PS3 Fanboy (now Joystiq [playstation]), and Leigh Alexander on Gamasutra again. Added to Playstation Conversation sidebar of the official Playstation Blog. Finally ending up on PS3 Fan, a Japanese-language site.
Potential interview subjects take note, though I’m fairly certain this rarely happens.
